In memory of Marcus Maurer, we are opening this digital book of condolences to give everyone the opportunity to express their grief, memories and sympathy. Together let us collect the beautiful moments, small and big stories with Marcus and the meaning Marcus had for us in this place. We have lost a brilliant person, an excellent teacher, an outstanding scientist and a warm-hearted friend. Our thoughts are with his family and all those who were friends and close to him.

We receive numerous inquiries every day regarding donation opportunities. After careful consideration, we have decided to allocate donations to the “Marcus Maurer Fellowship Program” to establish scholarships and travel grants for young physicians and researchers.

Lasst uns gemeinsam die schönen Momente, kleinen und großen Geschichten mit Marcus und die Bedeutung, die Marcus für uns hatte, an diesem Ort sammeln. Wir haben einen brillanten Menschen, einen hervorragenden Lehrer, einen herausragenden Wissenschaftler und einen warmherzigen Freund verloren. Unsere Gedanken sind bei seiner Familie sowie allen, die ihm freundschaftlich verbunden waren und ihm nahestanden.

Wir erhalten täglich zahlreiche Anfragen bezüglich Spenden-möglichkeiten. Nach reiflicher Überlegung haben wir beschlossen, Spenden für ein “Marcus Maurer Fellowship Program” zu verwenden, um Stipendien und Reisestipendien für junge Ärzte und Wissenschaftler zu fördern.

Thank you Marcus and good bye It was a privilege to get to know a person like you who is beautiful inside-out . A great scientist and researcher full of radiating energy and endless brilliant ideas accomplices by a shining and reassuring smile to all around those who got to know him closely. My institution at King Faisal Specialist hospital was a place which is full of research opportunities in the field of Urticaria and Angioedema as well as Hereditary Angioedema,but not involved in any international work in that regards , until my good fortune brought me to meet with Marcus and new chapter in our collaboration and work started with GALEN , UCARE & ACARE . A lot of clinical research is going on now here all because Marcus sent them over to me ( as he told me) . Marcus; whenever I treat a patient suffering with Urticaria and gets better , or a patient always scared from HAE attacks and he is now under control, or when I enroll a patient in a new study ,I feel your spirit and “never give up “ attitude . You were one of a kind person who I and all those who have known you will never forget . My condolences to your family , friends and all those whom you touched their lives with your science n kindness, too Good bye my friend, God Bless you as you RIP????????????
